Over the years we’ve been lucky enough to work on a number of amazing landscaping design projects in and around the Harrogate area. Residents of this elegant spa town are lucky enough to live close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and in particular Nidderdale, which is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here, rolling moorland sits adjacent to soft valleys and stunning lakes, and the landscape has provided us and our clients with a great deal of inspiration for textures, seasonal colours and rocky forms within gardens we have designed.
Harrogate is home to some wonderful maintained gardens such as RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, and Valley Gardens which many of our clients visit regularly to enjoy the sights and sounds of these national treasures.
We aim to create gardens which not only fulfil (and exceed) our clients’ expectations but show how a garden can provide a link between indoor space and the great outdoors to provide a living space which can be enjoyed all year round and provide a haven for local wildlife. We are inspired by many aspects of the Harrogate gardens their water features, surprise views, statues and most of all, the planting. Our Yorkshire home can be inhospitable to tender plants, so a visit can often reveal which plants thrive in this part of the world and which do not. It’s this kind of attention to detail which sets us apart from our competitors.
We look at all aspects of the project – from altitude and orientation, to the acidity of the soil and whether the garden is sheltered or exposed, there’s no detail which we overlook.
